General information only

Everything on this website, including articles, FAQs, cost ranges, and safety tips, is general information about mice and rats in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and nearby cities. It’s written to help you understand what you might be dealing with and what questions to ask.

It is not a substitute for an in-person inspection by a licensed pest control professional.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site is professional pest control, medical, legal, financial, or insurance advice.

• Health: If you think you’ve been exposed to rodent-borne illness, or you have symptoms like fever and body aches after contact with rodents or droppings, talk to a doctor. For general guidance, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health publish information on rodents and hantavirus.
• Legal and rental questions: Comments about landlord and tenant responsibilities are general. For your situation, check your lease and talk to a qualified attorney or a tenant resource organization.
• Insurance: Coverage varies by policy. Ask your insurance agent.

Prices and timing are estimates

Price ranges on this site are rough estimates for the Twin Cities area. They are not quotes. Real prices depend on the building, the problem, and the provider, and are set by the provider after an inspection. The same goes for timing, such as same-day availability.

Safety

Follow product labels and safety instructions for any trap, bait, or cleaner you use. Keep bait and traps away from children and pets. When in doubt, leave it to a licensed professional.

Referral relationship

We’re a free referral service, not a pest control company, and we may be paid for calls. See our Disclosure page for details.

Accuracy

We work to keep information accurate and up to date, and we review it periodically. But rules, products, and prices change, and mistakes can happen. If you spot something that looks wrong, please let us know through our Contact page.
